Those who know me are well aware of the continuous battle I fight with my ever sensitive skin. Due to my naive thinking that acne comes with puberty and could not care 2 hoots to combat those hyperactive sebaceous glands in my younger days, I'm now paying a heavy price for it (literally). Been spending money on all sorts of latest skin treatments - IPL, laser rejuvenating, micro needling, PPX... I've been there and done that!!!
Having good skin is a given to some people * super envious* but I feel maintaining good skin is a reflection of one's grooming and discipline. The saying goes 没有丑人只有懒人
Sunscreen, moisturiser and a good cleanser or makeup remover are very VERY IMPORTANT parts of a daily skincare regime for me. I apply moisturiser and sunscreen that also doubled up as my makeup base in the morning 8am, followed by full makeup consisting of foundation, blusher, waterproof eyeliner and mascara and sometimes eyeshadows. Spending extra efforts just to seeing a more presentable me is a must, I really need these tools to amour myself for work!!! I need a confidence booster:(
All those colour and paint stays on my face for more than 10 hours Mon - Fri. My goodness!!! i cringe as I'm writing this. After a long day at work, I'm soOOO tempted to plop myself on bed and just knocked out. That's why it's ever so critical for me to find a reliable makeup remover to get rid of all traces of makeup in the shortest possible time and most effectively. I seriously cannot afford to have clogged pores which will develop into adult acne and more pitted scars!!! NOnOOOOO
Recently tried this makeup remover sample and I must say it works really well. Fuss free compared to my current Shu Uemura cleansing oil and just (if not more) effective. I like the lightweight texture which cleanses thoroughly and able to remove my waterproof mascara easily. My skin feels fresh after that and not a strand of my eyelashes came off during the process. Highly recommended!!!

Smell Your Way to Happiness
On Sunday night after dinner with family at Great World Imperial Treasure, I aimlessly walked into Marks & Spencer with no tinge of excitement at all. It was a situation where everyone else except me wanted to shop. That's a very rare phenomena for an avid shopaholic like me. Guess it's probably due to the Pre-Monday blue mozzies' sting. Anyways, i still went along because I did not want to be a party popper.
I stopped at the body spa section and picked up a hand moisturiser tester. If I may be honest, my initial selfish motive was just to use a moisturiser for free. But it's amazing how the right fragrance uplift my spirits and instantly transform my mood to one that's lively and rara-ing. I cannot explain the intricacies of the workings of human mind when it connects with smell. The only one thing I'm certain of, i feel happier and blissful state of being.
Research findings have shown that natural fragrances have healing elements that work on our body, mind, and spirit. They actually enhance our mental health creating happiness and well being and perpetuating uplifting states of mind. Geranium has been shown to prevent mood swings and balances the adrenals and hormones. There are root and wood essential oils that ground and center us in our body creating focus and concentration. Cedarwood and vetiver have meditative aspects. Citrus oils have been shown to be anti depressants. Many floral essential oils increase self esteem and confidence. Bulgarian rose oil opens the heart chakra and therefore increases feelings of self love and love in general in our daily life. Lavender has shown to be calming and is commonly used as a natural remedy to headaches. Frankincense and other oils are very good for the skin. Some essential oils are shown to be soothing and reduce stress and relieve nervous exhaustion. Angelica root encourages inspiration, and inner vision. There are energetic, emotional, and physical healing properties associated with natural fragrances.
Believe every individual has her own concoctions to beat the blues. So next time, if you are feeling not too perkish try spray on a citrus fragrance or lather yourself with rose hip hand/body moisturiser. That should do the trick! :)

Mooncakes Galore 2010
![]() |
Other than the above snowskin range, I also had AH YAT (compliments from Mr K's dad), Peach Garden and Tung Lok baked mooncakes. My ever friendly neighbour gave us a box of air-flown Kee Wah mooncakes from HKG. All these mooncakes are gonna be my breakfasts and tea breaks for the whole month of September.
Wishing all a happy Midautumn Festival!!!

The Beginning of All Things
It's really amazing (maybe self deprecating) that at this ripe age I'm finally onboarded the blogger wagon. Compliments of a bosom friend of more than 16 years and still counting for sure!!! Thanks Pauline for your sweet and thoughtful birthday present.
P: Have you been to MBS?
ME: Oh yes, I've been there a couple of times, even stayed at the hotel thrice already. Best of all, it was free of charge.
P: Woah.... is the hotel room nice??
ME: Not too bad, rather typical of casinos' hotels. Functional and comfortable but definitely do not expect any frills or theme. Hey go look at those pictures I've uploaded on FB. View from the sky park was awesome, and I caught the fireworks galore on NDP rehearsal.
P: Geez, I don't logon FB nowadays. Nothing to see there, I rather follow blogs.
ME: Huh... but you would not be updated with my latest happenings if you don't logon FB. *sulking* You really need to check out FB more often.
P: No, you should start your own blog and then I can follow and get updated with your happening.
ME: I can barely think of a name for my blog .. unless you going to do it for me as my birthday present *gleeful*
P: Aiyo, it's very simple. I thought of a name for you already.
ME: *eyes wide-opened* Are you serious!!
Barely a week later, http://tweettickles.blogspot.com/ is born.
